A Slog, for those less versed in vast world of elementals, is a being whose entire body is made up of minerals. Despite having no organs or mouths, they can live, move, and even speak. Like other elementals they come in a variety of shapes and sizes, though a humanoid form is the most common. (There are many theories regarding this phenomenon, chief amongst them is the belief that elementals choose a form similar to the creator whom the many humanoid species are made in the image of. This theory has of course, led to discord with the non-humanoid races who feel such beliefs label them as inferior beings. See Political/Species Relations)
The Slog pictured is a crystal based, seen in the middle of deep thought. Slogs all share the trait of deep, time-consuming contemplation. The surest way to survive an encounter with an angered Slog is to offer it a riddle or question that requires any amount of deliberation. The longest time on record for a Slog to be in such deep thought, is 47 years. (The Slog in question was assumed to be a large rock, and had a house built around it. 47 years later the Slog jumped upward shouting "Pickled eggs obviously!", destroying the house and terrifying the elven couple that resided there.)
