Heads Up 43 by SeanRM Heads Up 43 by SeanRM
Public Domain Hero Week - I re-imagine heroes and villains from the Public Domain.
(For commentary on this week's drawings - [link] )

Pharmacist Bob Benton, after repeated harassment from the local gang stumbled across a chemical compound he would later dub "Formic Ethers". These granted him enhanced strength, agility, and rendered his skin nigh-impenetrable.

Bob would use these powers along with gas capsules he could use to poison his enemies (non-lethal) to combat crime as the Black Terror.

His moral code regarding non-lethal methods would put him at odds with other crime fighters.

Black Terror (created by Richard E. Hughes & Dan Gabrielson) first appeared in 1941's Exciting Comics #9

I like this version. It looks very original, although I feel a bit of Captain Herlock in it. Coincidence, maybe. ;) Great work anyway!

A-ha, I see what you mean about a famous one! The Black Terror definitely has gotten around as PD, dating back to at least the 1970s.

This is a cool redesign, taking the outfit in a different direction while retaining all the important elements of it.
