This is a design I did a while back for a comic I was working on, but I couldn't come up with a good look for the main character.

I might go back to it if I can ever work his look out, but for now here's a look at my lava monster.

Very, very cool. (Hah!) I love how the lava seems to glow and the way its "eyes" seem to peer up at the viewer.
