MBA2012 - Part 1 by SeanRM MBA2012 - Part 1 by SeanRM
Here's the first of my sketch cards done for Rittenhouse Archive's Marvel Bronze Age set.

The theme of this set was to focus on characters made in, or as they looked during 1970-1985. It was a blast doing research and drawing these guys in accurate outfits. (This era is full of some of my favorite Marvel character designs.)

I know I say this every set, but I really think I outdid myself with these.

Highlights for me on this sheet are; the Man-Thing/Glob fight based on a panel by Mike Ploog, Beta Ray Bill, and the creepy clown machine behind Arcade.

Great work! I don't recognize some of these guys, but with my Marvel Comics Digital Unlimited subscription I'm sure I'll meet them eventually! My favorite:Kierrok. Though the Man-Thing vs glob is pretty sweeet too.

The bronze age now includes the 80s? Ouch, that makes me feel old. Nice to see Beta Ray Bill!

Lol, I get that way when I hear about childhood favorites hitting their big anniversaries.

That Man-Thing/Glob fight card is a thing of beauty, as are the rest of the monster cards. There's some great texture work going on in those! I also really like the lighting effects on Cyclops' card.

What can I say, I love drawing monsters!

Glad to hear it, the lighting effects have been one of the things I have been playing with.
