Monster of a Game by SeanRM Monster of a Game by SeanRM
This was a (late) birthday gift for my friend :icondaveyriot:, and actually it is a two year gift. I felt like monkey shit that it took so long to do, but I put alot of extra effort into it. (Not that that makes up for it completely, but I hope it helped...)

He came up with the concept of the Universal Monsters arranged in the classic "dogs playing poker" layout, with Dracula's pissing off the Gillman. (I loved the concept twice as much when he added the dialogue.)

Originally I had the Invisible Man in there, but he was kinda boring to look at, so I swapped him out with the Wolfman, and put the Metaluna Mutant (This Island Earth) in the Wolfman's old spot.

I also did a few new things in the process of making this, and tried a new coloring technique. I like it, but it takes a while so I will not be using it for all of my pics. Still, I will be using it again from time to time, and playing around with it more.

Such a great cast of monsters for the scene and such a gorgeous rendering style. The more painted look suits the smoky, half-lit scene perfectly. And the little details! The Majora's Mask painting in the background and even just the print on the backs of the cards. Great stuff all around.

Thanks! This took a while, but was a ton of fun to work on.

It was well worth the wait. So no worries about how long it took. I'm still thrilled to have it.

I am a huge, huge fan of dogs playing poker in the first place, and this...man, so much detail and so much expressiveness. The mutant is an inspired choice to fill out the game, too!

How can I not draw the Metaluna Mutant? He may not be an official part of the "Universal Monsters" but he deserves to be.
