The title works best when said in the voice of Sgt. Schultz from Hogan's Heroes.
Making slow, but steady progress on commissions. Expect some more busts soon, as well as more progress on the commissions below. While I am not able to hit the timeline I had hoped for... (Next Friday arrived alot sooner than I thought it would. What the hell time?) I am still hoping to have commissions opened as soon as I can. An influx of new jobs should be a nice boost to morale, as well as the influx of new cash into the ol' bank account. (No offence to my current commissioners, I am enjoying these current jobs - but you work on the same project for a couple of months... It does start to get tiring not making as much progress as you want/should.)
In other news, as of yesterday - I will now be taking every Thursday off from commission work to work on my comic. I am far rustier than I care to admit, but I am making solid progress. I hope you guys will enjoy it when I am able to start posting pages. As per the wishes expressed in the current/recent poll - I will post the prologue on here ending with a "cover page" with the full title and a link to the website. If you want to avoid reading those pages on here and jump straight into the website, then I will post a journal with a link as soon as the page is ready to go live. It will be a little bit until then, but take heart that it is finally on the way. (I know I am overjoyed to finally be making progress.)
Lastly, outside of the frame of me and my art here are a few things you should check out and maybe toss some cash at;
- My friend is currently fundraising in order to publish the first issue of her comic series Sharkpony and the Glitter Riders. (If you remember I did a bit of fanart for her birthday of Sharkpony himself.) The comic should be amazing, and the concept is a great parody/homage to the "magical girl" genre. Check out the full info at the Indiegogo page - www.indiegogo.com/projects/sha… and help spread the word. She is a great person, and a very hard worker, and I am sure this comic will entertain you.
- Mighty no. 9 is rocking along magnificently, having reached its goal and charging forward through the stretch goals. There are still 18 days left in the campaign, so I highly urge you to get in on this and help it get as far as it can! Not only to hit those remaining stretch goals, but to support Keiji Inafune and the entire Comcept crew. (Besides, if this gets closer to/breaks 3 million dollars in just crowdfunding, I think that will send a solid message to Capcom.) www.kickstarter.com/projects/m…
- If you are like me, then you are a huge fan of platformers and old school 2d adventure games. (You have also probably been dancing about since M#9 hit its goal, and cannot wait to play it!) Well, I heard a few folks say, that as happy as they are with the success of Mighty, that it is a shame that there hasn't been nearly as much attention to this other Kickstarter game campaign - Shantae: Half-Genie Hero. I finally checked it out, and it looks like a really fun game. If I didn't have a ton of work to do, and an embargo on fanart - I would definitely draw some art of the the cute heroine. So if you have already hit up the above causes, or even if you didn't - go check out Shantae and help get this great looking game made! www.kickstarter.com/projects/1…
So that is all the news I have to share at the moment. Thanks again to everyone for making the bust sale a success, and I will try and get more of those out as soon as I can.
